Updates!

I'm back!

So the weekend after visiting my family, I and my amazing boyfriend, Fredrik, went up north visiting his family and celebrating his grandmas 85th birthday. It started out with me getting friday and saturday off, (hurray!). We had a late flight on thursday evening, arriving in Trondheim, taking the train to Steinkjer where Fredriks dad was waiting for us at the station. We drove home where his amazing mom was waiting with something to eat, cause we couldn't go to bed with an empty stomach. Simply amazing people, and I have grown to care a lot for them, just like I care for my own family.

FRIDAY started out with me and Fredrik driving his dad to work, because we needed the car. So we got up at 8 or 8.30 not so sure, but we got up waaaay too early on a day off. After driving his dad to work, we went back to the house ate breakfast, took a shower and then we started our day. First putting all the stuf that we had to take with us in the car, and some other tasks that we got from his parents.

Getting some stuff that we needed incl. a wine for his mom, (a late birthday gift for her.. incl. a NEW CD by the local star Ida Jenshus (strongly advised to listen too) and a red wine (of course.. the woman has taste) ) So after we got that and some other stuff ready, we could finally go visit friends that just got a baby... well not just.. but almost 2 months ago. So previous to this visit, I was going crazy around Bergen, looking for the perfect gift for the baby, and the perfect card for the parents, but what is a perfect gift for a NEWBORN ONLY CHILD THAT ALREADY HAS EVERYTHING? People STOP spoiling your kids, and making it hard for your friends to buy gifts!!! But I got the perfect gift anyway... or so I chose to think :).

After being with Christiane and her gorgous little newborn baby (which really is a gorgous little thing, for a baby.... cause babies are (sorry) usually very ugly), we had to go pick up Fredriks parents from work, one by one. Getting a little bite to eat, we were on our way to Lysøysund and Fosen. Fredriks parents birthplaces (I think). There we first went to see his grandma (Fathers side), also called Biste :) to just wish her a happy birthday, cause that day was her 85th birthday, but saturday was the big party. After stopping there, eating some great homemade waffles, and other goodies, that Biste made, and meeting up with Fredriks two big brothers, Stig Roar and his oldest brother, Ronny, his wife, Charlotte, and the two adorable sons. And then we were on our way again. To grandpas house (Mother side) were we would be spending the weekend.

Friday was spent with a great family atmosphere. The uncles playing with their newphes, which they get to see to little, while mom and sister-/daughter-in law where getting the dinner ready, and so on. Simply great:) After the boys went to bed, the rest of us got to eat a great supper. Crab for those who love it (my dear Fredrik and his parents), shrimps for those not so in love with crabs, and reindeer burgers for those totally hating/not daring to taste the crab. So after I ate a burger, I had to taste the crab, cause the way they ate it, it looked delicious :) So after the first try without anything it tasted aweful (sorry people), but another try which incl. crab on bread with a homemade garlicsause and lemon on, it tasted amazing. So I ate me first crab, and loved it. Thanks to my love, always reminding me that I was the one who said :"i like to taste all sorts of food, before i judge it!". Usually I hate it when he reminds me of that, but if he didn't, god only knows what great stuff I would have missed.

So after an amazing dinner, a lot of funny stories after a couple of glasses of wine we finally went to bed. While Fredriks mom was still in the kitchen finishing the last perfction details for the big birthday party ahead. And his brother Stig went out, to sleep under the open sky, which really was open, 'cause it was raining.

SATURDAY started out with the little boys dragging their uncle Fredrik out of bed, and wanting to play with him right away. Stig coming back, from a night of little sleep and a lot of rain to join us for breakfast. After breakfast everybody did what they had to do before the party, while I got on a little road trip with my sweety and his dad to explore the area and getting some local history:) It was a lot of fun, and I really enjoyed it. After getting home, we started getting ourselves ready for the party, taking showers one after the another, while nobody really paid attention to the two little boys who really wanted to just play. So after they got a little whiney, and we were good to go, but still had some time on our hands, we went out to play with them. Playing with the leaves and playing football (am.soccer) and just having fun with each other.

One by one we got inside again and really got ready to go. And NOW I was nervous. Come one, I was going to meet all of Fredriks closest relatives on his father side. Scary. Aunts, uncles, cousins and great-aunts. For all of you laughing at me now all I have to say is:"you just wait and see, you'll come to that point sometime too... and then I'll be the one laughing!" :) So after meetin almost everybody, we got seated, introduced, and the fun could begin. We ate, we sang and we even got so see a funny play about a regular day at grandma and grandpas house, that some of Fredriks cousins set up. It was brilliant and amazing and fun.

This told a lot about that part of the family, and how close they are, and how much they care for each other. Simply amazing. After some great speaches, and Biste getting her huge gift (a whide-flatscreen-tv) and more speeches it was time for coffe and cake :) I and Charlotte got one glas of wine from our dear in-laws, and ideas for a great photoshoot with the 3 ladies laying drunk on the couch by the bar. But thank god we didn't do that! :P And Fredriks dad taking us out for a photoshoot, taking like a zillion pictures of us all dolled up, til he got the perfect picture. :)

After all the food, drinks, songs and speeches people where getting tired, and ready to go home. And on our way out of the restaurant we got an amazing little surprise. A choir sang a birthday song for Biste at the door. They were having a meeting or dinner party or something like that and heard that someone else on the other end of the restaurand was celebrating a birthday, so they came by to congratulate. That was really the dot over the evening. Then we went home and to bed.

SUNDAY we all had a late breakfast and a great dinner together, and really enjoyed the time together as a family, me included, huurrraaaayyyy. My little baby got a fever and the flu (from his brother Ronny who was sick all weekend) and didn't really feel well. He didn't eat all that much. But the day was spent in socializing with the boys, cleaning the house, packing and getting ready to go back home. My sweety had to have enought strengh to get back home to Bergen, and that wasn't so easy. Since we had a 2 hour carride infront of us, a busride and a late flight, and another bus ride and carride before we were finally home. After an exhausting and amazing weekend, we thought all we needed was a good night sleep.

Wrong, it turned out to be the flu, and both of us getting a sick note for the rest of the week. Not so much fun, but we rested, ate well, drunk tee and read books all week long until recovery. Not fun beeing sick, but all in all it's been a great weekend, week and month I would say. I'm very thankful and finally feeling better again. Looking forward to going to work on monday :)

Sorry for the post being more like a short story/book :P LOL

Till later alligator:)
